First Steps Programs

Our First Steps programs introduce young children to dance though movement, rhythm and music. Instruction is gentle and fun; the aim of our classes is to familiarize little dancers with dance and music in a studio environment.

Our foundational classes are specifically geared towards children ages 2 - 5 and we welcome dancers to start in foundation classes without any previous experience and at any age.

2024 - 2025 Classes are offered on throughout the week and session dates are as follows:

Tuesdays:

Session 1: September 9 - January 25 - NO CLASS November 9 - 16

Session 2: January 27 - June 7 - NO CLASS February 15 - 23 & April 18 - 27

Tiny Tutus - Ages 2-3

Ballet Boogie - Ages 2 - 3 & Ages 4- 5

Tiny tutus is the first non-parented class we offer in the studio! Little dancers will explore movement and dance skills specific to their developmental age. We love creating classes that enchant and engage young dancers, and your dancer will love it too!

Ballet Boogie - Ages 2 - 3 & Ages 4- 5

A combination of classical ballet and creative movement for a truly magical experience! Transform into your favorite fairy tales princesses through storytelling, dress-ups and dancing! Classical dance and music come to life in a creative and enchanting class setting. Each month will feature a new princess!

Hippity Hop - Ages 2 - 3 & Ages 4- 5

Upbeat, Energetic and Fun! This Class Introduces rhythm, coordination and the fundamentals of jazz skills. With age appropriate choreography and dance moves, all children are sure to enjoy this class!

Tappin Toes - Ages 3-5

Hippity Hop - Ages 2 - 3 & Ages 4- 5

Little Ones Love to make noise! A rhythmical combination of movement, sound and style; tap is an excellent class choice for coordination and developing a sense of rhythm.

The magic of childrens stories comes alive in the class filled with tumbling and acrobatics! Our Acro and tumbling classes follow the Acrobatic Arts acro technique. This class includes stretch, strength, and basic acrobatic skills (cartwheels, handstands and sommersaults)

Pricing & Tuition

GST not included in pricing rates. Each class in the 5 Month Program is guaranteed 17 classes per season. 5 Month Programs: Registration and Costume Rental Payment is due upon registration (This is a Cancellation fee and is non refundable) Monthly Payment begins September 1, and ends on January 1, and/or begins on February 1 and ends on June 1.. These fees will be processed on the first of the month through the payment method on file.

Class Information

For the first half of the session, our preschoolers will focus on the basics of dance and culminate with a dance showcase to be performed in January, and/or June

Dress Code

The dress code for our First Steps classes includes:

Girls: pink bodysuit, pink tights, pink skirt, pink leather ballet shoes, indoor runners, black tap shoes, or bare feet.

Boys: white t shirt, black pants/shorts, black ballet shoes and/or black tap shoes

We ask that all dancers wear their hair in a ponytail or a bun in order to keep off their face.

Class Length

Our pre-school classes are structured to include attendance, storytime, dance skills, freeze dance and cool down. Each class is 30 minutes in length from start to finish.

Pre-school dance classes are the first unparented, full year dance class that we offer.

Picture Day

Each session our dancers take part in a picture day. We provide your rental costumes and all you have to do is show up! Photos can be ordered through the photographer after they are previewed. This is a great keepsake for your child!

Dance Showcase

It is such an exciting process introducing our little dancers to the world of dance and getting them ready for their very first dance recital! The dance showcase is always a highlight when the dancers growth and improvement is showcased on stage in such a special setting!

Showcases are offered twice per year - January and June!
